3 days for what? By the time I am reading this, you would have been past the deadline. Hope whatever it was went off well.

We are into a profession where every year we have to do some nonsense work (we love to call it ‘research’ for an eyewash, because, you know, they pay for that. Kind souls. Ain’t they?) and then submit them to scientific conferences to show the world that they are supremely wrong in categorizing us as stupid. The fact of the matter is that we are more stupid than they think. But I like the way we pretend, snigger, and behave with airs of self-importance in an ambition to pass for a genius. You can find a bit of a proof of our miserable existence in the “About me” of the profile. What lofty claims; science, mathematics, poetry, speed of the light, wow. Just let me whisper to you if you promise not to divulge it to anybody else, particularly to my boss, “I sleep the whole night and dream the whole day (‘daydream’, gotcha?)”. So now there is one such a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiggggg conference, for which the deadline for paper submission was officially on 31st May. But as you can guess, a man of hard work that I am always, I was unable to complete the work on time (do you think it is fair to set specters of deadlines before a creative soul as rare as me). So I argued with that conference committee that it is lifelines that we researchers need, not deadlines, citing the fact that time is the most important element of any work of art ..the longer the better. Anyway, they acquiesced and extended the deadline by good seven days. So now I have full seven days to waste, this time bit by bit, passionately and no hurry.
